Dear Parents, Staff and Community Members,                                          

 

The governors of South View Infant & Nursery School and South View Junior School have been working closely together to provide the best education for our children.

 

We have been exploring the idea of ‘federating’ both schools and the accompanying consultation paper outlines what we, as governors, believe are the important benefits for the children.  We need your views to help shape the future of education in our community. We wish to stress that federation is not a bid to merge or amalgamate the schools.  Each school will continue to maintain their individual identity.

 

Your involvement is important to us.

The attached document is to explain the proposal in more detail and to identify how you can contribute to the consultation.  To provide opportunity for everyone to discuss this proposal, we will be holding a number of consultation events.  Attend any session you can, at either school.

 

 

If you are unable to attend any of these sessions, please feel free to email either chair of governors via the school offices: office@southview-jun.hants.sch.uk or admin@southview-inf.hants.sch.uk or give any comments on the attached form.   We have allowed 6 weeks for responses – so please respond by Friday 4th  November 2016.

 

The governing bodies believe this is an excellent opportunity for both schools and that a federated arrangement would be positive for children, parents, staff and the community. However, please remember this is currently a proposal and the governing bodies will not be making a final decision until they have heard and considered your views.

 

The outcome of the consultation will be reported to both governing bodies the week commencing 14^th November 2016.  The governors of both schools will then make the decision whether or not to federate.  We will communicate our decision within seven calendar days of this date.
