Children in Need – Friday 15th November 2024

This year, for Children in Need, the children can come to school dressed in yellow, spotty or Pudsey themed clothing. All we ask is for a donation of 50p, which will go to raise funds for Children in Need.

If you are in Year 3 or Miss Allen’s class, and going to the cinema, please feel free to wear Children in Need clothes rather than your school uniform.

  • Christmas Card Design Project

    Wed 16 Oct 2024

    Dear Parents,

This year we have chosen to participate in a ‘Christmas Design Project’ again, run by Cauliflower Cards.  The project aims to encourage pupils’ creativity and design skills whilst also raising funds for our school.

Your child has been creating their own Christmas design, which can be professionally printed to produce personalised Christmas cards, gift labels, wrapping paper, notebooks and mugs.

Not only would it be very exciting for your child to see their work as a finished printed product, the cards themselves are great for sending a more personal greeting to friends and family at Christmas and the mugs are great for gifts!

Orders and payment must be made online using the unique code located at the top of the pupil order form.  Please refer to your order form for further instructions.

Each order form must be unique so please do not photocopy the form for other members of your family you can get extra copies from your school.

If you place an order, the artwork must be returned to school by:

    Monday 4th November 2024.

    Yours sincerely,

    Miss Allen and Mrs Marmoy

  • School Meals Price Increase from Sept

    Mon 02 Sep 2024

The price of school meals will increase on Monday 2 September 2024 by 20p to £3.20 for all pupils and young people across Hampshire who purchase school meals through Hampshire County Council’s Education Catering service.

    Why the price is increasing

The meal price reflects the impact of inflation, including food price rises and associated costs. The current price has been held since June 2023. Whilst Education Catering understand that price increases are never welcome, they have done everything they can to restrict the rise, while remaining a National Living Wage employer and therefore offering staff better terms and conditions of employment than some commercial competitors.

Hampshire County Council’s Education Catering service is committed to providing high-quality, delicious meals that support the learning of Hampshire's young people, including those from low-income households who rely on our hot meals.

    Free school meals

Please use the free school meal eligibility checker free school meals

to see if you qualify for this entitlement.

  • Happy retirement Mr Gaunt!

    Tue 23 Jul 2024

    Dear Parents,

After 29 years at South View Junior School, Mr Gaunt will be leaving us at the end of this term to retire.

Over his time at the school he has taught thousands of children and I know he was a very popular teacher. His enthusiasm for sport was his main focus, and he has coached many children in a wide variety of sports.

Without a doubt, he will leave a huge hole in the staff, as he has been a fantastic team player and a great friend to many members of staff.

I am sure you will all join me in wishing him a very long and happy retirement.

    With best wishes,

    Mrs Sheila Pape
